Minister Burke to host coffee morning in aid of North Westmeath Hospice

Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, Peter Burke TD, has announced the return of his annual coffee morning in aid of North Westmeath Hospice, taking place at his constituency office in Blackhall on Friday, October 2, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

This annual event is open to everyone, with local businesses, organisations and members of the community invited to drop in for a coffee, a sweat treat and a chat, while raising funds for North Westmeath Hospice. All money raised will stay within the local community.

Established in 1994, North Westmeath Hospice is a voluntary organisation providing specialist palliative services to people across the county, supporting patients and their families with compassionate care and support at home and in the community.

Minister Burke said the Hospice provides an essential service to local families.

“North Westmeath Hospice plays such an important role in our community, providing specialist palliative care and supporting people and their families with compassion, dignity and respect at a very difficult time,” he said.

“I have heard many personal stories from families who have experienced the care and support provided by the Hospice, and I have enormous respect for the staff and volunteers who deliver this vital service, including those who provide care and support in people’s homes.

“I really want to thank Grace Maxwell from local coffee roasters ‘Red Rooster Coffee’ for supplying the coffee this year. A quality product and a Blas na hÉireann finalist.

“I would encourage everyone who can, to pop down to my office on October 2 for a coffee, a sweet treat and a chat, and to show their support for North Westmeath Hospice. It is a fantastic local organisation doing hugely important work for people and families across our community, and every contribution can make a difference.”
