Minor footballers set to face Meath

Westmeath manager Eoin Kevlihan has named the team to face Meath in the Leinster MFC, on Wednesday in Kinnegad (7.30pm).

Shandonagh's Eoin Conlon and James Mitchell of Moate All Whites are selected at midfield, while Daire O'Connor (Tubberclair) leads the attack, with Ryan Kelly (Mullingar Shamrocks) at full forward. Cian Whitney (Moate All Whites) and Neal Pierson (Tyrrellspass) hold the key defensive berths, with Callum Butler Dolan (St Loman's Mullingar) selected in goal.

“It will be a huge challenge for us, we are well aware of that. We have been competitive up to now, but we have to continue that level of performance and that is the challenge,” said Kevlihan.

Louth and Dublin are in the same group, with Westmeath facing two big away games (on April 12 and April 26) after Wednesday.

The Westmeath team has been named for Wednesday's game.
