'A huge achievement' - Gaelscoil an Mhuilinn wins national drama final

Gaelscoil an Mhuilinn's youngest students are celebrating this week after being crowned All-Ireland champions at the Féile Scoil-Drámaíochta.

The students from the school's Naíonáin Bheaga and Naíonáin Mhóra classes claimed first place in the national finals of the Féile Scoildrámaíochta with their musical drama 'Ná Trí Mhuicíní' (The Three Little Pigs).

The school's victory in the prestigious competition was made all the sweeter by the fact that the finals, which attracted schools from across the country, took place in Mullingar Arts Centre.

Príomhoide Caroline Ó Fiaich says that winning the title is “great news” for the students and the rest of the school community.

“Comhghairdeas mór leis na Ranganna Naíonáin ó Ghaelscoil an Mhuilinn a bhuaigh an chéad áit san Fhéile Náisiúnta den Cumann Scoildrámaíochta.”

“This is a huge achievement for these little people putting a play on stage totally in Irish in front of huge audiences in Mullingar Art Centre. Huge praise goes to their teachers: Múinteoirí Esther Ní Chonchúir, Fiona Seoige, Síle Mhic an tSaoir and Valerie de Faoite.”
