Gaelscoil an Choillín headed for Young Environmentalist Awards

Gaelscoil an Choillín have been shortlisted for the Young Environmentalists Awards for their Plant a Planet campaign.

This year, there were more than 290 entries from 28 counties, and the local group received a “huge well done” for the work they put in over several months, during which they planted more than 140 trees.

The awards ceremony of the Young Environmentalist Awards 2023 is on this Friday May 26, in Dublin's Convention Centre, where there will be interactive stalls and exhibitors, workshops, learning zones and more.

The shortlisted groups will have access from 9am (before the doors open to the public) to set up their exhibition stands (which are provided, so that the groups just need to pin up their displays and set up their designated spaces to show off their work.

Supporting school mates, teachers, parents, and friends are all welcome, and there will be special guests and VIPs present too.

There will also be a range of workshops and interactive sessions for both young people and mentors. Then, the awards ceremony takes place in the afternoon, when the winners will be announced and presented with their trophies and awards on stage.
