Mix of sunny spells and scattered showers

Becoming warmer but unsettled over the coming days. That's the latest weather outlook from Met Éireann.

Today will bring a mix of sunny spells and scattered passing showers, some heavy. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 or 20 degrees Celsius, in moderate to fresh westerly winds, coolest closer to the Atlantic.

Early tonight showers will become more isolated with clear spells for a time. However, scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle will move in across much of the western half of the country later. Lowest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees Celsius in light to moderate southwest breezes.

Thursday will be a rather wet and windy day with widespread falls of rain and drizzle, heaviest and most persistent across Atlantic counties with spot flooding. Low cloud and mist in parts too. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees Celsius in fresh to strong southerly winds.

Wet and rather windy overnight on Thursday with some further blustery spells of rain. Mild and humid with lowest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees Celsius.

Friday will see some scattered thundery showers move up in the flow, some intense falls across the west and southwest likely with spot flooding. Warm and humid, especially in sunshine with highest temperatures of 18 to 23 degrees Celsius, in mostly fresh southeast winds.

A band of thundery rain is expected to clear northwards on Saturday with sunshine and moderating westerly breezes following later. Highest temperatures of 18 to 23 degrees Celsius.

Sunday will bring widespread heavy thundery showers with spot flooding, especially later in the day. Highest temperatures of 17 to 22 degree Celsius in light to moderate southerly breezes.
