Orla Brennan (Ballinagore), Gillian Heeney (Ballinagore) Amy Alford (Tyrrellspass) were among the large Irish contingent that cheered on the Girls in Green in their opening World Cup match in Sydney on Thursday.

They may not have got the result their performance arguably deserved but Vera Pauw's team definitely did the country proud.
