Mullingar Town Band follow fleadh week with new season open night

Mullingar Town Band recently concluded an exciting and bustling week at the Fleadh Cheoil, marked by six captivating performances that resonated with audiences across the region.

Engagements included a diverse range of events such as the opening ceremony, on the NMCU Gig Rig, performances at Harbour Place Shopping Centre, the Cathedral of Christ the King, and a wonderful appearance at the Marching Band Competition held at Cusack Park followed by a parade through town.

Throughout fleadh week, the Bandhall buzzed with activity, as a hub for cultural enrichment and entertainment. The highlights included set dancing workshops, inclusive discos that brought joy to all attendees, book launches that celebrated Irish music history literary talent, CD launches showcasing the wonderful talent in the Irish music scene, and enlightening lectures that engaged and educated visitors.

Mullingar Town Band extend heartfelt congratulations to the Fleadh Executive Committee for orchestrating a wildly successful festival that captivated the community, the country and beyond.

The band also express deep gratitude to the dedicated volunteers who tirelessly contributed their time and efforts to create a memorable experience at the Bandhall during the Fleadh.

Looking ahead to the new season, Mullingar Town Band have an open night scheduled on Friday September 1.

This event warmly welcomes individuals from age age to adult and all backgrounds who possess an interest in learning to play a musical instrument.

Whether aspiring musicians wish to join the beginners music classes, the marching band, or adult concert band, or partake in the colorguard – the innovative dance ensemble incorporating equipment – the invitation stands to visit the Bandhall and enroll for this year’s music lessons and band activities.
