'Mandy' makes easy Indian summer listening

New music from Cian Thomas

From his base in Barcelona, Mullingar's Cian Thomas has today released new music.

Upbeat and catchy, 'Mandy', is perfect easy listening for this Indian Summer weather we're having!

Penned five years ago, Cian attributes Mandy with the shot of courage he needed to further his solo music career.

"It was the first original song that I ever played for anyone. My friends really got behind it and that gave me the confidence to start playing it at gigs. From there it became part of my identity as a musician and I always got a really warm response from people when I played it," says Cian, son of well known musician and DJ Noel O'Farrell.

"For me the song encapsulates everything I was feeling at that time, and the excitement, carelessness and recklessness of being 20. It’s been through a lot of different recordings and mixes in the last few years but it’s finally at a place that I’m happy with and ready to share with people."

Recorded by in Transmission Rooms Studios, Drumlish, it features Mick Cronin on drums and Oran O'Brien on bass, and was mixed and mastered by Martin Quinn of Jam Studios in Kells.

Mandy is available on Spotify and all other platforms now.
