Derravaragh Music Association announce details of autumn and spring concerts

The Derravaragh Music Association have announced the details of their autumn 2023 and spring 2024 concert series.

Concerts will take place in October and November 2023 and January, February and March 2024.

The announcement of the programme was made in the resident home of the DMA, Tullynally Castle, where all concerts will be performed.

Patron of the association, Thomas Pakenham, welcomed a programme that includes several of Ireland’s leading performers, such as pianists Finghin Collins and Hugh Tinney, both much loved by DMA audiences.

Musicians playing at Tullynally for the first time will include the Marmen Quartet (in association with the National String Quartet Foundation) and international touring players (in association with Music Network) such as the English soprano, Anna Denis, Swedish lutenist Jonas Nordberg and Spanish clarinettist Pablo Barragán.

At the launch event, Derravaragh Music Association chairperson Jane Massy provided details of the programme and introduced Catherine Cotter, cellist, who is from Westmeath and one of Ireland’s most outstanding young performers.

Now studying at the Royal College of Music in London, Catherine played a short programme of the Prelude, Allemande, Sarabande and Gigue) from Bach Suite No. 3 in C major.
