TV chef cooks for Clonmellon

The organisers of the Market Clonmellon were delighted with the success of their Autumn Food Festival, which took place in beautiful sunshine at the Market Square on Sunday October 8.

In addition to the regular monthly food stallholders, the market welcomed some new foodies and Blas na hÉireann winners, Tastees, selling jams and chutneys, and Ion Oil, selling flavoured cooking oils and spices. Drogheda Honey and Quarrymount Meats were also new to the market and the team look forward to seeing them all again at the next one, on Sunday November 5 (11am-1.30pm).

The Clonmellon team offered special thanks to chef, Tara Walker, who gave three cookery demonstrations using the produce on sale, from Killua Venison and Quarrymount Meats, to La Castrilena Olive Oil, Pat Dempsey pumpkins, Ion Oils, Bellingham Cheese and vegetables from the Clonmellon community garden.

With a wide selection of choice from the quality craft stallholders and a chance to sit back and enjoy coffee and a chat with friends in the sunshine, it was a wonderful day for the community and beyond, and lovely to see new faces and visitors from neighbouring counties.

“Thank you to all who come and support our monthly community market.”
