The St Loman’s Mullingar Nursery will begin on February 6 for six weeks.

Have roaring fun at Loman's Lions' new indoor nursery

St Loman's Mullingar is holding indoor nursery and skills sessions for its youngest members, the Lions.

From Tuesday, February 6, the Lions will train in the gym at Loreto College for six weeks. Aimed at boys and girls born in 2018 and 2019, the training is free and everyone is welcome to attend.

Underage secretary Aidan Canning said that six weeks of the indoor nursery will be the perfect introduction for children playing Gaelic football for the first time.

“The indoor training, like our oudoor training at the Lions Academy, is based around a series of fun-based exercises devised to develop movement and motor skills in young children.

“It focuses on fundamental movement skills such as crawling, balance, running, and jumping. When it comes to playing with a ball, it focuses on skills such as throwing, catching, kicking, and passing. The aim is to ensure that while the children are learning new skills, they are also, most importantly, enjoying themselves.

“We love seeing new families joining our club and this six week training block in Loreto's wonderful gym is a great way to introduce boys and girls to the club, their new team mates and their new coaches.”

The sessions run from 6.15pm to 7pm, starting on Tuesday, February 6. To sign up, text Garrett on 0872712410. Outdoor training for the Lions starts on March 16 at 10am.
