Mullingar Pride to announce 2024 plans at AGM next week

Since launching in November 2021, Mullingar Pride have held sold-out events, parades, concerts and more, and now as they reach out across the midlands, they looking for new members and volunteers to join them as they keep the momentum going.

Mullingar Pride recently launched their Youth Pride Programme in partnership with Youth Work Midlands and the HSE, and have plans for a similar style adult social group Mullingar Pride Meet Up to the town in the coming months.

Outgoing chairman and Mullingar Pride founder Daniel Boyne said: “To see how the town in general has accepted the organisation is promising, and we are so thankful, but there’s more to do and local support is vital to the sustainability of Pride.

“LGBTQ+ people of all ages and backgrounds live in towns like Mullingar and it’s important they have safe spaces and visibility for an equal community for all.”

There will be a change in structure for Mullingar Pride this year as they expand in order to manage it effectively, and that will be revealed at the AGM on Thursday February 1 in the Greville Arms Hotel at 7pm.

If you are interested in joining Mullingar Pride as a committee member or volunteer, you can attend the meeting for more information. Everyone is welcome. Mullingar Pride is on Saturday July 13 this year.
