Peugeot give 2008 more assertive SUV design and enhanced tech

Peugeot have given their 2008 a more assertive SUV design and enhanced technology.

The new Peugeot 2008 SUV boasts a modern, assertive design that features a new Peugeot front and rear light signature, a redesigned front end with the new Peugeot shield, and a range of new colours to choose from.

The new Peugeot 2008 is available in three spec levels, including Active, Allure, and GT, with a choice of engines, including a new 115kW/156bhp all-electric engine that has a range of up to 406km (WLTP combined cycle).

The 2008 also comes with new colour options, innovative wheel designs, updated Peugeot badges, and new refined fabrics. Additionally, the car features an updated Peugeot i-Cockpit® with a new design for the digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch central touchscreen for all models. The Peugeot i-Connect® system offers full connectivity through wireless mirroring (Apple CarPlay/Android Auto) and enables easy access to all infotainment functions via the ‘OK Peugeot’ voice command.

The new Peugeot 2008 features several advanced safety and driving assistance technologies to ensure a safe and stress-free driving experience including:

• Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go Function

• Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection

• Extended traffic sign recognition and display

• Active lane departure warning with lane correction

• Blind Spot Monitoring

• Driver Attention Alert

• HD parking aid cameras

• Enhanced traction with Grip Control

In addition to the electric powertrain, the new Peugeot 2008 features a choice of advanced 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engines. The PureTech 100 is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, while the PureTech 130 can be combined with either the EAT8 eight-speed automatic gearbox or a six-speed manual gearbox.

A hybrid option later in 2024 with the new 48V Hybrid powertrain, which consists of a new-generation 136bhp 1.2 litre PureTech petrol engine, coupled with a new six-speed dual-clutch electrified gearbox that includes an electric motor.

The new 2008 retains the same exterior dimensions: 4.30m long, 1.987m wide (including mirrors), 1.55m high. The boot volume is unchanged at 434 litres (under the parcel shelf). Prices start at €30,440 for the 1.2 PureTech 100bhp in Active level.
