Clonmellon Tidy Towns to hold clean-up day at weekend

Clonmellon Tidy Towns are holding a clean-up day in the village and surrounding areas on Saturday next, February 10, meeting at the market square at 10am.

They will have bags and litter-pickers provided by the environment department of the Westmeath County Council. The will be the start to preparing the village for this year’s Tidy Towns competition.

Clonmellon Tidy Towns are making good progress with their project at Killua Cemetery. With the help of the local Men’s Shed, they are removing the railing around the Chapmans grave for repair.

They removed a tree that grew into the railing and thank Barry and Andrew for their hard work. As they clear the overgrown area, they come across graves that were covered.

The clean-up continues; it will take more time and work, and anyone who would like to help can make contact at tidytownsclonmellon@gmail.com.
