Love and Valentine poems by Douglas, Louise and Laurence

Love… by Douglas Raeside

More than a feeling, it just a vibe?

A thing that really, really keeps us alive.

A warm cuddle, a kindness of word,

More given by just this world.

We critical to one, and all

When we fair ,even play ball.

A little kindness, a little thought,

A behaviour learnt, from very cot

A brief hello, gesture great,

A life’s journey, heaven’s gate.

So spread the love ,even joy,

A life lesson learnt, as from young boy.

Love… by Louise Ryan

Love hurts my heart,

Love hurts my head,

Love, when its gone, makes me wanna stay in bed

Love hurts my soul,

Love hurts my being,

What is love…? This phenomenal feeling

Love chokes me up,

Because of love I can’t see,

Love has me drowning in tears in a way I’ve never been

Love says goodbye,

Love says I’ll wait

Love speaks a million words through hundreds of photos of all our dates

Love is love,

My favourite word, my favourite place to be

Love is unlimited and the best things in life like love are free

Love stands for everything,

Love stands for hope,

Love stands when you feel you can’t anymore cause your heart is broke

Love is immeasurable, love a number 8 on its side

Love is all the stars in the sky but seeing them in your eyes,

Love will hold on forever cause love is worthwhile

Love is never silent, love is never loud

Better to have loved and lost will always make me proud

Love is a mystery, love an endless dream

Love has to come to an end, unfortunately for the time being,

On me, love will always let you lean

Love, a best friend and more,

Love, a text one day, a two hour call, a meeting at the door,

Love for lovesake never will I ignore

Love… One goodbye for now,

Love… I’ll just say see you later,

Love heals us in time as I wait in faith here.

#14… by Laurence Meehan

We bought flowers on our way home.

You know!… Petrol station stuff

Some overpriced chocolates

And a bottle of foam

We watched the same old movie.

Recited the lines together.

Is this what they meant?

When they said forever?

Of course not, but hey!

It’s Valentine’s Day

And one must validate one’s love

In a commercial way

So, let’s drink to the flowers dying in the vase.

And ask yourself this…

what’s been a flower?

Or what flower been?

Love is love.

Not a chocolate dream

Remember to love that human being.

Not a date

In the calendar

Number fourteen.
