Amy Michelle is among the acts lined up for the fundraiser.

Palestine support gig at Clarke's

A charity gig in aid of the work in Gaza of UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East), is to take place on March 1 at Clarke’s Bar on Patrick Street, Mullingar.

“A fantastic line up of speakers and artists” is promised by the organisers of the event, the Mullingar 4 All group and the Longford Westmeath branch of IPSC (Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign).

The evening is being organised in collaboration with Irish Artists for Palestine.

The musical acts are: Fieldsy, Kathryn Nea, Abood Aladham, Raimonda Masiulyte-Ramchurn, Amy Michelle, Clara Tracey, John Staunton, Colette Clinton, Elizabeth Tierney and Adrienne Maguire, Katie O’Connor, Xingru Zhou, Ollie Clarke, Leah Moloney, Paul Lynch, Andi, Bróna Keogh and Laura Ann Brady.

Deejaying will be Sleepless Beauty and there will be a spoken word performance by Grace Brady.

The MCs are Christine O’Mahony of Mullingar 4 All, and historian Ruth Illingworth, and as part of the proceedings, there will be a talk by the Sadaka Ireland Palestine Alliance.

Activities

As well as performances, there will be an art auction and raffle: watch out for artist Trea Ivory, and on the market side, Ola Elian, and the Aimee’s Appetite bakery .
