Measures in place to stop long vehicles turning at estate
Measures have been put in place at a Delvin housing estate, to prevent long vehicles turning in to the estate.
At the April meeting of the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad, Cllr Niall Gaffney asked that bollards and other appropriate structures be installed at Lacora Glen, Delvin, to counter the problem.
The reply from the executive stated that they have installed bollards there, and these will be monitored to determine if further works are required.
Cllr Gaffney said there is a problem at the back of the estate, where long lorries are turning, and because they are so long, they are hitting the green area.
He asked that the district engineer meet with residents of the estate to hear at first hand about the issues of concern.
At the same meeting, Cllr Gaffney asked that the district replace roadside fencing along the N52, between Killulagh and Delvin, explaining that there was some urgency to the request since cattle will be going into the fields from around May 1.
The response provided stated that the district will examine the fencing. If works were found to be required, funding would be requested from Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
