Public consultation event for N52 road improvement scheme in Clonmellon

Westmeath County Council will host a public consultation on Wednesday, 9 July 2025, from 3pm to 8pm at Clonmellon Community Centre, to present route options for the N52 Cavestown to Kilrush Road Improvement Scheme.

Developed in partnership with Transport Infrastructure Ireland, the project aims to enhance safety along a high-risk section of the N52 north of Mullingar where between 2020 and 2024, eleven collisions were recorded. Planners have proposed three potential routes that address safety concerns, especially at the Ballinlough Castle S-bend.
