Cork's Callum Walsh to be on the undercard of Canelo v Crawford
Michael Bolton
Cork boxer Callum Walsh will be on one of the biggest cards of the year as he takes on Fernando Vargas Jr in Las Vegas.
The fight will be on the undercard of Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez versus Terence Crawford in September 13th, and it will be shown live on Netflix.
Walsh, who has the backing of UFC CEO Dana White, is unbeaten with a 13-0 record and is one of the biggest stars of Irish boxing.
Walsh's last fight was stopped just one second into the fifth round when the referee deemed Walsh unfit to continue due to a cut over his eye.
The fight then went to the score cards where the Cork man won by unanimous decision over Mexican fighter Elias Espadas.
The 24-year-old has won the WBC USA Silver super middleweight title and currently holds the WBC Continental Americas super welterweight title.
