The Academic returning to the Olympia in October

Westmeath music maestros The Academic have announced a return to the stage at the Olympia Theatre on October 16 this year.

This Indie foursome has been working hard behind the scenes for the past two years, releasing their second studio album, “Sitting Pretty” in 2023.

The band is also preparing for a massive UK & Europe tour in February and March 2026, with notable concerts planned for the likes of Manchester, Glasgow, London, Amsterdam and Berlin.

The Killucan lads recently decided to postpone a UK and Europe Tour earlier in the year, this was to focus on producing their next album.

At the time, the band said: “We know this is disappointing, and trust us, we’re feeling it too.

"But we promise this is all leading to something bigger, and when we do return, it will be worth the wait.”

Speaking on their official X account, the band said: “Dublin, we couldn't forget about you.

“It’s been way too long, but we’re finally returning to the Olympia Theatre on October 16. This one is going to be special.”

Presale tickets go live on Tuesday, August 19 at 10 am, with tickets due to cost around €40 inlcuding booking fee.
