Poets for Peace gather to support people of Gaza

On Saturday evening, a group of about 20 poets gathered in Caffrey’s Bar, Mullingar, to speak out for peace.

Most were from Westmeath, and they were joined by others from Dublin, Longford, Roscommon, and even Amsterdam.

Many of the poems focused on the atrocities in Gaza, and others simply advocated for peace, or against war in general.

As well as poems from those in the photo, Jeanette Everson also read two poems from a 15-year-old girl in Gaza who she is in contact with, to open and close the night.

There were also a handful of poems submitted from a couple of others who were unable to attend, which some of those present read out on the night.

Jeanette thanked all who attended and supported the event, and Caffrey’s Bar for hosting the evening.
