Witness appeal after child injured in Clonmellon traffic incident airlifted to hospital
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious injury road traffic collision that occurred on the L6821 in Clonmellon, yesterday, Wednesday 22 April.
Shortly before 7.30pm, gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a collision involving a pedestrian and a car at Killallon Road, Clonmellon.
The pedestrian (a female child) was airlifted to Temple Street Children’s Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Her condition remains critical.
The scene is preserved for technical examination by garda forensic collision investigators.
The road is currently closed and diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Road users who have camera footage, including dash-cam footage and were travelling in the area between 6.45pm and 7.45pm on Wednesday are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí.
