Cuffe wins Pat Rickard memorial
Kilbeggan Pitch and Putt notes
A great crowd of 22 players turned out on Wednesday evening last to honour the late Pat Rickard. Beautiful sunshine and heat were the order of the evening. It didn't deter Gemma Cuffe, who took home the trophy as the overall winner. Congrats to Gemma.
Club winners included Gemma’s dad Niall, John Carton, Damien Mullins and Brendan Clarke.
Visitors; prizes went to Tullamore father and son PJ and Patrick Murphy. Lady Captain, Kathleen Carton, was the ladies prize winner. Thanks to Kathleen and Lil for the lovely refreshments after the event. And finally, thanks to members of Pat’s family who attended the event.
The club's juveniles headed to Trim on Saturday last for the Leinster Matchplay. It was a great day. Pippa Cuffe retained her title while Noah Gorman continued his improvement with a semi-final appearance, thus earning a bronze medal. Well done to all.
Finally well done to Kathleen Carton, who finished in third place in the ladies inter competition on Sunday in Rochfortbridge. Well done also to Liam Buckley of Collinstown, who won the gents inter.
Sean Dinnegan of Lough Owel was the senior winner and John Donnelly, Lough Owel, won the nett. It was a great weekend for Westmeath.
