Shane O'Donnell to retire from Clare at the end of the season
Clare forward Shane O'Donnell has announced that he will retire from inter-county hurling at the end of this season.
The 2024 hurler of the year won two All-Irelands with the Banner County in 2013 and 2024.
He is still only 32 and he could play his final game for his county this weekend, as Clare face Limerick in this year's All-Ireland semi-final.
O'Donnell had previously hinted he would finish up last season, but after an injury-hit campaign in 2025, he indicated his intention to go for another season last autumn.
