Gents Intermediate winner Robbie Ryan receiving the trophy from Dinah Carton.Saturday last, despite the welcome return of rain, saw 123 players arrive in Kilbeggan for the Paddy Carton Scratch Cup. It was marvellous to see Dina Carton and family members in attendance.
The course was in magnificent condition. We are holding the National Junior Strokeplay in August and a lot of players tested themselves. Full results as follows:
Ladies grade 1, Kathleen Carton, Kilbeggan; grade 2, Angela Connolly, Edenderry.
Gents senior winner Gerry Coyne, Rochfortbridge; runner-up, Kieran Earls, Bruff; last 18, Pat Malone, Custume.
Intermediate winner, Robbie Ryan, Riverdale; runner-up, Noel Comiskey Jnr, Kilbeggan; last 18, Jordan Donoghue, Rochfortbridge.
