Milltownpass and Multyfarnham speeding concerns

The “fantastic little community and village” of Multyfarnham is in need of a pedestrian crossing, Cllr Emily Wallace told officials at the July meeting of the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad.

Stating that there is no safe way of crossing the street in what is an extremely busy location - especially due to the number of agricultural vehicles passing - she suggested that since speed ramps are shortly to be installed there, one of them could have pedestrian crossing markings on top.

The written response from the executive stated that the district office had submitted a CLÁR application, just the previous week, to fund traffic calming measures in Multyfarnham.

Cllr Wallace also had concerns about speed in Milltownpass, and asked for installation of a tabletop ramp on the approach into the village, before the school and adjacent to Millview estate.

To that, the written reply was that the district would consider funding for traffic calming at that location as part of the future works estimates.
