Six new homes available in phase two of Kilbeggan affordable housing scheme
Six new homes are being made available under the second phase of the Local Authority Affordable Purchase Scheme at Coola Meadows in Kilbeggan.
Westmeath County Council, in partnership with Brennan McCann Developments, have launched the latest phase of the scheme, and a mix of two- and three-bedroom homes are available from €265,000.
The online application portal for Phase 2 opens at 12 noon on Monday August 31, and remain open till midnight on Sunday September 20.
The level of discount available to successful applicants will depend on their individual circumstances, including household income and mortgage capacity.
Under the scheme, Westmeath County Council will retain an equity share in each property equivalent to the percentage discount provided on the purchase price.
Homeowners can buy out the council's equity share at any time within 40 years of purchasing the property.
The homes are available to people who are first-time buyers or who qualify under the Fresh Start Principle.
Applications will be assessed in accordance with the council's Scheme of Priority. Applicants must also have mortgage approval in principle secured before the application portal closes.
The latest release follows the first phase of the scheme, which opened for applications in May, and offered four homes at Coola Meadows.
That phase included two two-bedroom and two three-bedroom semi-detached houses, starting at €275,000 and €315,000 respectively.
Further information on the scheme and the application process is available from the Westmeath County Council' website, or affordablehousing@westmeathcoco.ie.
