Running a little latte for the North Westmeath Hospice

The parkrun regulars and visitors joined volunteers from the North Westmeath Hospice for a Halloween coffee morning on Saturday.

The approximately 170 participants were served hot coffee and tea, cool water and various treats at the finish line, and lots of donations were collected for the hospice.

The atmosphere suited the day that was in it, as many of the participants took on the 5k in Halloween fancy dress and spent some time chatting and enjoying their treats on a beautiful autumnal Saturday morning.

Margaret Claffey, chairperson of the NWH fundraising committee, thanked the parkrun organisers for facilitating the coffee morning, the Greville Arms Hotel and Kerrigans coffee shop for supplying the tea and coffee.

“Thanks also to all who generously donated, all monies raised stay within the locality and will be used to support the specialist palliative care team in the north Westmeath area,” said Margaret.
