Mullingar Pride returns this June, for its fourth year

Mullingar Pride returns for its fourth year next month, following three successful festivals that have established it as one of the region’s most uplifting and inclusive events.

Founded in 2021 by Daniel Boyne, Mullingar Pride is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to creating safe, visible, and empowering spaces for the LGBTQ+ community in the midlands.

Since its launch, the event has grown thanks to grassroots support and supportive community spirit.

“We’re proud of what we’ve achieved,” said former chairperson Mark Reynolds. “I’ve stepped down now, and it’s great to see others step in and carry the torch to ensure Pride continues to thrive in Mullingar.”

Mullingar Youth Pride and the Mullingar Pride Adults Group, part of the organisation, offer connection and safety for LGBTQ+ individuals in the area.

Mullingar Pride is also known for its annual Werk! Fest, which has welcomed national and international performers to its stage. While this year’s committee have decided to focus efforts on the family-friendly events and parade, there will be two evening events following the parade on July 5: a social in Daly’s Bar and a special edition of Werk! The Night in Smiddy’s Bar.

“In a world that often feels divided, we want Pride 2025 to be a symbol of unity, visibility, and accessibility,” said a spokesperson for the committee.

“This year, it’s about making sure everyone feels welcome and part of something positive.”

Mullingar Pride 2025 opens on Saturday June 14 with a Drag Brunch in Daly’s Bar. Mullingar Pride is on Saturday July 5. Full event details and updates can be found at Mullingar Pride and Facebook, Instagram, .
