Plans to mark 30 years of Delvin Hospice fundraising
Thirty years of fundraising and care by Delvin Hospice is being celebrated next week at St Patrick’s Hall, starting with Mass celebrated by Fr Heaney and followed by a social evening.
The event is on Friday September 19 at 7pm, when the community will celebrate how people in Delvin and the surrounding areas came together to support hospice care.
Since the beginning, volunteers, families, and local organisations have given time, talents, and energy to raise funds. They have hosted coffee mornings and raffles, organised sponsored walks, tractor runs, and bring and buy sales, golf classics and bike runs.
Over the years, the funds raised have helped to provide comfort, dignity, and care to patients and their families at the most difficult of times, and allowed hospice services to reach more people, and to ensure those in need have access to support.
As Delvin Hospice fundraising celebrates the 30 years, the need for hospice services remains vital, and the ongoing kindness of supporters will ensure that the work continues.
The committee said in a statement: "To everyone who has baked a cake, bought a ticket, joined an event, or made a donation, thank you. Thirty years of fundraising is not simply an achievement, it is a testament to the heart of Delvin, and to the belief that compassion and care can make all the difference."
