Visit Fore for Halloween… if you dare!
Fore village and its surrounds will be transformed into a “Haunted Hinterland” this Halloween, and you are invited to go along… if you dare.
The organisers promise the “Spookiest Walk of the Year” on October 31 and a Halloween adventure suitable for children and adults.
There are a number of elements planned for what sounds like a great event, and the headline one, scheduled to start at 7pm, is the Fore Spooktacular Walk on the Nancy and Nellie trail, designed for older children and brave adults.
They will have to prepare for a thrilling adventure as there will be a scare team lurking in the trees, creating a heart-pounding experience along winding, haunted trails. Participants should brace themselves for chilling surprises and terrifying encounters that will send shivers down their spines.
For younger children, an earlier fun session (5-6pm) means they can enjoy a spooky walk, dressed in costume if preferred.
The trail will be lined with candle-lit jars decorated by local school children and festive hand-carved pumpkins. Additionally, a sensory-friendly hour will (5-6pm) provide a gentle and inclusive experience for children with sensory needs.
Participants are encouraged to leave carved pumpkins or decorated jam jars in the Abbey House in Fore on Thursday October 30, or by 2pm on October 31, then, during the walk, guests can search for and locate their own decorated jars and pumpkins.
After completing the walk, everyone is invited to relax back at Abbey House, enjoying warmth, hospitality, and the chance to see if their ticket has won a spot prize. Refreshments such as hot drinks and homemade baked goods will be available to purchase.
The organisers promise an exhilarating, local and affordable Halloween experience. The entry fee is €5 per person, payable in cash, and the proceeds support the restoration of Collinstown Fore Parish Churches, St Feichin’s National School in Fore, and St Mary’s National School in Collinstown. Your support is greatly appreciated. Please note, no dogs are allowed.
