Christopher retains his ambassador post at SPPU

Following a university-wide recruitment process, Christopher Lynn from Westmeath has been reappointed Student Ambassador in St Patrick’s Pontifical University, Maynooth (SPPU). Christopher is a former student of Coláiste Mhuire, Mullingar.

Ambassadors are a link for incoming students, assisting with orientation activities, providing campus tours and being on hand with advice and recommendations on how best to transition from second level to life at university. The ambassadors also assist at university events throughout the year, passing on their experiences of life at St Patrick’s Pontifical University.

On studying at SPPU, Christopher said: “I am currently in my final year in St Patrick’s, studying Theology and History. Choosing what to study after the Leaving Cert was a difficult decision to make, yet I am certain that choosing to study at St Patrick’s Pontifical University was the right one.

“The ability to study at both St Patrick’s and Maynooth University makes for the best possible experience. My theology lectures and tutorials are small enough to allow me to make connections between both my lecturers and my fellow students. My arts subject at Maynooth University is history, and that is in perfect harmony with my study of theology. The skills I have learned in both subjects compliment each other perfectly.

“Without doubt, my favourite thing about St Patrick’s is the beautiful campus. The old buildings make walking in to my lectures every day an absolute joy. There are times when I feel like I am walking through a movie set. Studying at St Patrick’s Pontifical University is something I would recommend to everyone.”

St Patrick’s Pontifical University is located in Maynooth. The town and campus are extensions of each other. Students enjoy the benefits of having all the amenities they need close at hand without the busyness of a large city, while still being very accessible to Dublin which is only 30 minutes away and served by excellent rail and road links.
