Help! Llama drama in Castlepollard
We have received a note telling us a “free range llama has been jumping in and out of fields and gardens around the Finea Road, Castlepollard area for the last few months”.
Residents there believe the animal must have escaped its owners and is now loose around the area.
One person told us: “It was a great surprise when it turned up on our patch – ‘mam, there’s a llama in the garden!’ ‘Yeah right,’ I said. But there she was.
“She has visited us four or five times since, and now my children are feeding her apples and carrots.
“It’s all well and good to have such a delightful visitor, but we are concerned for her safety and that of road users – it’s an accident waiting to happen.
“We have reported this to all relevant parties but there has been no action, and we thought a small story in your newspaper might help find her rightful owner.”
