Mullingar invited to 'Go Green' for St Patrick’s Day

The Mullingar St Patrick’s Day Festival organisers have announced that the weekend will feature the top class funfair, Cullen’s Amusements. It will at the greyhound track from March 12 to March 17.

A spokesperson for the organising committee said: “It’s a great addition to the festival this year as we look to grow and enhance the overall experience, and make sure Mullingar is the place to be for St Patrick’s weekend and St Patrick’s Day.”

Preparations for the parade are progressing well, and the committee are determined to match the success of last year when there was a record number of attendees.

This year’s theme is Myths and Legends, inspired by Ireland’s stories of old, and the late Manchán Magan. The Trad Trail will return for 2026 too, and there is a Westlife Brunch on March 15 in the Annebrook House Hotel.

The Mullingar Half Marathon opens the St Patrick’s Day fun in the morning and it will be followed by the Parade and a day of fun, and there is something for the entire family.

The organisers are also calling local businesses to “Go Green for St Patrick’s Day”

“We had some amazing entries in previous years and we can’t wait to see what you come up with this year,” they said.

There are prizes for the best dressed window “o get decorating, and let’s go green!”.

The committee will post photos of past entries and winners on their social media.
