Westmeath Libraries partner with Maynooth University LEGO Society for Creative Masterclass in Kinnegad
Westmeath Libraries have announced a new collaboration with the Maynooth University LEGO Society, who will lead a LEGO Masterclass workshop this Monday, 30 March, at the new Kinnegad Library branch (12.30–1.30pm).
Designed for children aged 9–12, the one-hour workshop promises a burst of creativity, hands-on challenges, and brick-tastic fun.
Led by committee members of the Maynooth University Lego Society, participants will take part in two building rounds.
• Round One: Create a LEGO build inspired by your favourite book
• Round Two: Compete to construct the tallest, strongest tower
Prizes will be awarded for standout creations, celebrating originality, storytelling, and engineering talent.
This workshop forms part of the Westmeath Libraries Spring Into Storytime event series, which encourages children to explore stories in new and engaging ways.
The partnership between a public library service and an academic institution is something the teams are especially proud of, and they hope this marks the beginning of many LEGO-themed events at Kinnegad Library.
Westmeath Libraries look forward to welcoming young builders for an afternoon of imagination, learning, and community connection.
