New Affordable Purchase Scheme for Kilbeggan
Westmeath County Council, in partnership with Brennan McCann Developments, have announced the launch of a Local Authority Affordable Purchase Scheme at Coola Meadows, Kilbeggan.
Ten houses will be made available to purchase for successful applicants, at a reduced price.
A mix of two-bed and three-bed units are being made available at prices starting from €275,000.
The total discount available to the buyer will depend on circumstances, as factors such as household income and mortgage capacity are taken into account when calculating the reduction.
The scheme will be delivered in two phases. Phase one is two-bed semi-detached (x2) and three-bed semi-detached houses (x2). The minimum purchase price for the two-bed houses in that phase is €275,000 and for the three-beds €315,000 (the purchase price paid by a successful applicant will depend on their financial circumstances).
The online portal for Phase 1 of the scheme goes live on Monday May 11 at noon and it will remain open for applications for three weeks – the closing date is Monday June 1 at midnight.
These properties are open to people who are First Time Buyers or qualify under the ‘Fresh Start Principle’.
Applications will be assessed in line with the Westmeath County Council Scheme of Priority. Applicants should have mortgage approval in principle secured when applying.
