Pictured in the office of the Westmeath Examiner (whose match reports on the eight games en route to All-Ireland glory are reprinted in the booklet) are: left to right, Brian O’Loughlin (Westmeath Examiner editor), John McCauley (local freelance photographer who provided photos for the booklet), Dean McNicholas (joint-manager of the Hogan Cup winners), Gerry Buckley (author of the booklet), Damien Maher (Westmeath Examiner sports editor), and Keith Moore (Irish partner in the Moore Group based in New York).Last Friday afternoon, Mullingar freelance sports journalist, Gerry Buckley, author of Fifty Years of the Hogan Cup back in 2003, who has gifted the 37-strong panel and the three managers of the recently-crowned Hogan Cup champions, Coláiste Mhuire, Mullingar, a special hardback souvenir booklet celebrating their historic 2025/26 campaign, met up with other key parties ahead of the medal presentation dinner dance that night in the Greville Arms.
The booklet was funded by the Moore family, New York, London and Westmeath.
Gerry Buckley presented John McCauley with a souvenir book. Also, a donation was made to John's Tanzanian Heavenly Homes fund. Also present was Damien Maher, sports editor of the Westmeath Examiner. John thanked all present for their support of his charity.
The bound copies are unique to the squad members and the managerial triumvirate, but Gerry has already had requests for softback copies of the book, and he plans to order the exact number requested for sale at a breakeven price of €10.
