Réaltaí Stáitse inár measc!

Gaelscoil an Mhuilinn celebrated last week as two of their groups reached the national final of Féile Scoildrámaíochta, held in Mullingar Arts Centre.

The naíonáin bheaga (Junior Infants) captivated the audience on Tuesday morning with their lively and engaging performance of Na Trí Mhuicíní, and Rang 3 took to the stage on Wednesday with their imaginative and confident production of An Fear Draíochta Oz.

Both groups performed with great energy and enthusiasm, demonstrating their dramatic talents and their confidence and fluency in the Irish language.

Principal Bríd de Bhial said: “We are incredibly proud of both classes for their dedication and achievement in progressing through the regional and provincial rounds to reach the national final. To have two groups representing our school at this level is a testament to the commitment and talent across our entire school community.”

Participation in Féile Scoildrámaíochta offers pupils invaluable benefits, including the development of confidence, teamwork, creativity, and communication skills. It also provides a meaningful and enjoyable way to strengthen their use and appreciation of Gaeilge, while giving them the unforgettable experience of performing on a national stage.

The school extended thanks to the class teachers for their dedication, creativity, and the many hours of preparation invested in guiding the pupils to the finals. Their hard work and encouragement have been central to the achievement.

A special word of thanks is also due to the parents and families, whose support has been invaluable throughout the process. From helping children learn their lines at home, to preparing costumes and supporting them on the days of the performances in the arts centre. Their involvement played a vital role in the pupils’ confidence and success on stage.

While the school productions didn’t take home awards this time, all at Gaelscoil an Mhuilinn are proud of the pupils and their teachers for their dedication, talent, and hard work, and look forward to continuing to foster a love of drama and the Irish language among all pupils.
