INTO host event for teachers who have retired since 2024

Mullingar Branch INTO held a retirement function in the Mullingar Park Hotel on June 5 for members who had retired from local schools since 2024.

Seamus Hanna, INTO vice-president, and Peter O’Toole, District 7 CEC representative, were the special guests for the evening, and more than 100 in all attended to celebrate and pay tribute to the retirees.

Róisín Nic Tighearnáin, the Mullingar Branch INTO chairperson, welcomed everyone and read a short poem in tribute to the retirees.

Mary Frances Cox and Paddy Judge of the Mullingar Retired Teachers Association addressed the audience and congratulated the retirees. Mary Frances outlined the benefits and social activities of the active local RTAI group.

Gary Corcoran, Mullingar Branch INTO secretary, thanked all the local officers and members who had helped to organise the night and paid tribute to the retirees.

Seamus presented gifts from the branch to each of the retirees.

He thanked Mullingar Branch for their hospitality and remarked on the collective wisdom and experience of the retirees.

Following the meal and presentations, guests enjoyed live music by Amy Quirke and Fiachra Milner.
