Proposal for 41 house development in Rochfortbridge

Westmeath County Council planners have been approached by a local real estate and property development company about a 41 house development in Rochfortbridge. Strongly Ltd, of Harbour Terrace, Mullingar, Westmeath have made a pre-validation approach to planners about the local residential development project.

The proposed estate will consist of 41 two-storey housing units. This breaks down to 36 three-bed semi-detached units and five four-bed detached units. The application covers the formation of a new vehicular access point and a separate pedestrian and cycle access for both directly off the Castlelost Road.

Plans include 56 car parking spaces, 41 will be in curtilage (with five EV and two accessible parking bays) and 15 visitor (one EV and two accessible) and 22 visitor cycle parking spaces.

The proposal includes all associated hard and soft landscaping, boundary treatments, footpaths, a wastewater pumping station and all other ancillary works above and below ground.

The development address is Castlelost Road, Rochfortbridge. The application received date is June 26, with an indication on file that a decision could be made by August 20, 2026.
