Ava, Anita and Brendon Loughlin from Kilbeggan at the Brosna Residents Group family fun day.The eighth annual Kilbeggan Family Fun Day took place on Saturday 25 July at Relic Road Park in Kilbeggan. The event, organised by Brosna Residents Group with sponsorship from Westmeath County Council, offered a lively afternoon of entertainment for families in the area.
Chris Guilfoyle, a member of the Brosna Residents Group, spoke to the Westmeath Examiner, at the event: “We run a few events throughout the year, mostly for local children as a way to get people out and about and intertwined with different cultures,” he said.
The fun day featured market stalls, bouncing castles, an aviary with birds from Raven Haven Aviaries, Viking displays, face painting, Irish Wolfhounds and live music from multiple local bands.
“With our market stalls, you’ll see bits of everything and anything. It’s a free event to enter, and there’s music and food as well as other activities for the kids, and a lot of the local businesses help to put it all together,” said Chris.
The day concluded after an afternoon of entertainment, and organisers thanked the volunteers, local businesses and sponsors who helped make it possible.
