Work on Church Avenue, Mullingar

A Westmeath County Council crew are working on the corner of Church Avenue and Oliver Plunkett Street in the centre of Mullingar to install permanent footpaths and bollards.

What had been there for almost a year previously was a temporary trial arrangement.

A council spokesperson told the Examiner they were confident it would work and are now making it permanent.

The updates include a tactile surface at the crossing point for the vision impaired.
