St Joseph's students round out results day in style at debs ball
Leaving Certificate Results Day is a significant milestone in the lives of students and this year it was certainly a day to remember at St Joseph’s Secondary School, Rochfortbridge.
Results became available online at 10am before students were invited to return to the school at 11.30am to receive printed transcripts and to share the occasion with their friends and teachers.
From the moment the first student arrived, it was clear that the news was good. One by one, students came through the doors with smiling faces and the school was soon filled with excited voices, laughter and an overwhelming sense of relief.
One of the most memorable moments of the morning came when Max Flynn arrived, cool and calm, having chosen not to access his results online but instead to open them at school. It was a privilege to share the moment when Max discovered that he had achieved an exceptional seven H1 grades, securing the maximum CAO score of 625 points.
Several other students came extremely close to achieving that remarkable result, and outstanding grades were recorded across the year group. It was also wonderful to hear that so many students were confident of securing places on their chosen courses, while others are eagerly awaiting the CAO offers to learn whether they had gained entry to their choices.
“We are so proud of each and every one of our students,” said principal, Margaret Cole.
“They were an exceptionally hard-working group, and they thoroughly deserve to reap the rewards of their dedication to their studies.
“We are looking forward to seeing where their next steps will take them, and we know they will go on to achieve great things.
“They are a special group of young people who will always be remembered here for their kindness, their love of school life and, most importantly of all, the care and respect they showed for their teachers and for one another.
“We urge them to keep in touch and to remember that we will always be here to offer advice and support whenever they may need it.”
Results day 2026 in St Joseph’s, Rochfortbridge was unique in that it was also the day of their debs ball.
The group came together in style that evening, a fitting celebration of an exceptional group of students marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their lives.
