Free retrofit advice event in Castlepollard

Homeowners and local businesses are being invited to attend a free community retrofit event to learn about energy upgrades, grants and financing options. The event, organised by Castlepollard Local Development and the Castlepollard Sustainable Energy Community (SEC) in collaboration with KORE Retrofit, is at the Castle Varagh Hotel on Wednesday October 21 (6-8pm).

KORE Retrofit are a SEAI-registered One Stop Shop, and members will be available to provide practical advice and answer questions about improving the energy efficiency of homes and business premises.

The event is aimed at people at every stage of the process, from those beginning to consider upgrades to homeowners and businesses already planning works. Attendees will receive guidance on how to reduce energy bills, improve comfort and identify which improvements could make the greatest difference.

Information will be provided on the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) grant process, including supports available for individual homes and businesses.

For those concerned about the cost of carrying out energy improvements, the evening will also explore flexible finance options for projects of different sizes.

Organisers say registration is free, and walk-ins are welcome on the night. Those wishing to register in advance can contact Castlepollard Local Development by email at castlepollardlocaldevelopment@gmail.com.

The event offers an opportunity for local residents and businesses to get information directly from retrofit specialists before deciding on their next steps towards more energy-efficient properties.
