The Westmeath Examiner Sport Stars of the Year Awards took place in the Mullingar Park Hotel on 30th January 2009. The Mullingar Park Hotel played a role of immense significance in the ceremony, and the Westmeath Examiner is indebted to proprietor Josephine Hughes, and all the staff of the hotel, for their hard work in ensuring that the Awards night was one for all to enjoy, and to remember.
