Bernie gets his boots on

This Sunday May 19 Westmeath Examiner columnist Bernie Comaskey takes his first steps on a 130-mile walk to the top of Croagh Patrick.

Bernie sets off after 10.30am Mass at St Camillus Nursing Centre, where his week-long sponsored walk is to benefit the residents with new equipment for The Patients Comfort Fund.

Bernie will keep a diary of his thoughts and experiences along the route, and extracts will be carried by the Westmeath Examiner over the next couple of weeks and in a blog on westmeathexaminer.ie.

Sponsorship can be handed in at the desk at the Westmeath Examiner; at St Camillus Nursing Centre, Killucan, or directly to Bernie at, Graftonstown, Brackly, Mullingar.

We wish him God’s speed!
