Mullingar firm signs deal with swedish it company

A partnership arrangement signed between the Mullingar firm, Mid@s Technologies of Forest Park, and the Swedish IT consulting company, Cybercom, will bring to the Irish marketplace a business model already operating successfully in Sweden, and in six other countries as well.

Founded just two years ago, Mid@s expanded in to Sweden last year, setting up Mid@s Nordic, which specialises in hiring software professionals for the Swedish marketplace.

Mid@s CEO Niall Hearn says the firm already has a successful working arrangement in place with Cybercom in Sweden.

“We want to replicate their model here in Ireland, to target some of the current opportunities that exist,” he said.

Segment sales manager, Peter Andersson, who represented Cybercom at the announcement, said it is concerned with ‘Internet of Things’ technology, and Michael Bratt, CEO and sales director of Mid@s Nordic, said the model planned would involve developing products on behalf of customers, “all things in ‘the connected society’”.

This, Mr Hearn said, could see teams, largely of software developers, operate in Mullingar, elsewhere in the midlands, or in Dublin.

“It is our objective to have Mullingar as the hub,” he stated, but, he pointed out, the geographic location of the teams would depend to some extent on the demands of the firms for which Mid@s is undertaking projects.

Cybercom employs 1,300 staff across seven countries, while Mid@s currently has a staff of 30 people in its Irish and Swedish operation.
