A generous prize fund of €1,200 was up for grabs this year, thanks to sponsorship from North Midlands Credit Union, Mergon and BD Flood. Other prize winners included the Ward family, Josh and Chad Devine, The Mule and Donkey Society, and Castlepollard Men’s Shed.
Speaking to the Westmeath Examiner, organising committee member Donie Cassidy said that there was “huge excitement” at the prize giving ceremony in the Hotel Castle Varagh on Sunday March 24.
Donie congratulated the prize winners and every local business and group that participated in what he says was the best St Patrick’s Day Parade in the history of the town. He also thanked the local business community for their support and Hotel Castle Varagh for sponsoring the refreshments on the night.
