Club Iarmhí quiz cancelled due to snow

Club Iarmhí’s fundraising table quiz has been postponed, in what is the first of likely a number of sports-related engagements to be called off due to the ongoing snowstorm.

The Westmeath GAA supporters’ club was due to welcome tables from clubs across the county for a highly anticipated table quiz in the Annebrook House Hotel (tonight, Thursday).

But as is the case with many other events, the weather situation has forced the organisers to call a halt.

Also postponed is Westmeath’s GAA’s underage launch night, which was due to take place in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Athlone last night (Wednesday).

The launch – which heralds the start of a second year of the Radisson’s sponsorship of Westmeath’s underage GAA teams – will instead take place next Wednesday night, March 7, at 7.30pm.

UPDATE, 12.38pm:
Croke Park has announced that all Allianz NFL and NHL games scheduled for this weekend – including the double header in TEG Cusack Park this Sunday – have been called off.
