A few familiar faces among the novice boxers taking part in ‘For Honour and Pride' this Friday night in aid of Olympic BC Mullingar and Good2Talk.

Friday ‘fight night' for Olympic BC and Good2Talk

‘Honour and Pride’, the first novice boxing event in aid of Good2Talk and Olympic Boxing Club Mullingar, takes place this Friday April 5 in the Greville Arms Hotel.

A total of 16 bouts will see sparks fly on the night, starting with Keith Moore representing Mullingar Shamrocks and sponsored by Clarke’s Bar, against Allan Devine, representing Castlepollard and Westmeath Hurlers and CFCW Footballers and sponsored by Mergon International, Castlepollard.

The main event of the night is Tommy Barry, who is sponsored by Paddy Corcoran Tree Surgery, up against Jack Kearney from Ballynacargy, who is sponsored by PDF (Performance Driven Fitness/Joey Cleary).

Don’t blink for this one guys, as this bout is going to see “bombs” thrown from the outset, but which one of these ‘heavy hitters’ will come out on top on the night.

David Horan from Mullingar, representing Westmeath and Leinster, and sponsored by Stonefacings Ltd, will go up against Sean ‘The Butcher Boy’ Galligan from Ballymachugh, representing Cavan and Ulster, and sponsored by Sheelin Meats, Ardleigh Vale/Cavan.

The first of the female bouts involves Liveta Lazauskaite, who represents Mullingar Shamrocks Ladies and the Lithuanian Community of Mullingar and who is sponsored by Trend Technologies, against Leona Archibold, representing St Loman’s Ladies and sponsored by Wright Windows.

Whether it’s the power and aggression of Liveta or the speed and agility of Leona that comes out on top on the night remains to be seen.
